Join us at Miel Bakery for a relaxed and engaging evening exploring the world of Japanese sake through the lens of artisan baking. This guided tasting workshop will introduce 3–4 carefully selected sake, alongside a curated pairing of Miel’s breads and pastries.  You’ll be guided through the fundamentals of sake — its ingredients, styles, and flavour profiles — while discovering how beautifully it complements both savoury and sweet baked goods.

 

The Experience

Sake is often associated with traditional Japanese cuisine, and this workshop offers a fresh perspective — presenting sake as a versatile, everyday drink that pairs effortlessly with food beyond the norm.

Through a series of thoughtful pairings, participants will discover how different styles of sake interact with Miel’s signature bakery items, revealing surprising combinations and new flavour experiences.

This workshop is led by Masayo Nuttall
With extensive knowledge of sake and food pairing, Masayo has conducted numerous tasting events, helping guests discover how sake can complement a variety of flavours. She plays a key role in growing sake sales in England and Scotland, and holds JSA Wine Expert qualifications, using her expertise as a bridge between Japanese sake and the UK dining scene, connecting chefs, restaurateurs, and enthusiasts through memorable tasting experiences.
