Discover the art of sustainable wrapping — and take your own furoshiki home.
Join us for an introduction to the beautiful Japanese tradition of Furoshiki: the art of wrapping and carrying objects using a single square of fabric. Rooted in the philosophy of Mottainai — “not to waste” — Furoshiki offers an elegant, reusable alternative to paper, tape and string.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn a variety of wrapping techniques for gifts and everyday objects of different shapes and sizes, before leaving with your own reusable furoshiki cloth to continue the practice at home. A thoughtful and creative way to reduce waste while learning a timeless skill in a relaxed, welcoming setting.
The workshop is led by London-based Furoshiki experts Maurya and Tak — craft-loving mothers with Japanese heritage and a shared passion for beautiful, practical and environmentally conscious living.
